It all started back in 2023...
At that time, our founders Virginie, with her experience in the leather goods development within luxury houses, and Marie-Anne, a Digital Marketing expert, were in charge of Adapta only. For many years, the company has been repurposing unused materials from luxury houses and their suppliers.
In order to pursue our reuse mission, was created Itera, the sustainable business leather goods brand Made in France.
There's one common mission to both companies: fight against materials waste and overproduction.
But why Itera?
By working in the leather industry, Virginie and Marie-Anne identified two opportunities. On the one hand, they had access to amazing materials that could not find a buyer within the allotted time frame. On the other hand, they were in contact with many talented craftsmen and manufacturers.
They therefore wanted to take their sustainability mission to the next step by finding a support activity for Adapta: a simple, qualitative leather goods brand.
But which market would be interested? Who could this approach be useful to? And how can we meet their needs?
From one thing to another...
And through talks with professionals who were bothered by not being able to communicate their values as they wanted, our founders decided to hop into the business gift market.
Indeed, nowadays, the objects or goodies offered do not meet expectations: their lifespans are very short, they are manufactured outside of Europe and are not always useful. Moreover, Made In France and quality are often too expensive for corporate gifts...
Thus, in order to offer quality and lasting products over time, we decided to work with the best craftsmen.
