We don't necessarily think about it, but leather is a material that continues to live throughout its use. It is therefore important, if not essential, to take care of it and nourish it.
So here are some maintenance tips for your leather :
To begin with, and to avoid marking your material, remember to regularly dust and quickly clean your leather using a soft, damp cloth. You can also add soap or a mild shampoo to clean more thoroughly.
It is also recommended to moisturize and nourish your leather item so that it can keep its shine over time. To do this, a natural moisturizer such as baby milk or special nourishing wax will do the trick very well.
Finally, remember to avoid too much exposure to the sun or near a significant heat source, this could damage your leather, just as it damages your skin.
Please note that each leather has its own specificity. For any additional information, the CNC or the French Tanning and Leatherworking Federation websites will be able to guide you as best as possible on the steps to follow!
Please note, before starting any maintenance, do a test on a small, barely visible part of the leather (you never know...).
Now you know the basics of leather care! All you have to do is apply them to keep your item in good health for as long as possible!
